Barcelona FC picked up 3 points while Real Madrid picked up ZERO!
Barcelona FC were able to secure a 1-0 victory at the Nou Camp against Osasuna to give them 3 points to move up in the Spanish La Liga standings with a total of 47 points. Current Spanish La Liga champions Real Madrid still lead the Spanish La Liga standings with 53 points, but a disapointing 2-0 away loss to Almeria allows Barcelona to close the gap for the race for the 2008 Spanish La Liga title.

Spanish La Liga Champions Real Madrid are now nine points clear at the top of the Spanish Liga after a 3-2 home win Sunday over third-placed Villarreal. Villarreal equalized twice against Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, but Villarreal were finally beaten by a goal 13 minutes from time from Real Madrid substitute Wesley Sneijder.
The late win keeps Real Madrid’s 100-per-cent home record intact - and leaves them well placed to claim their 31st Liga title. Real Madrid now have 53 points from 21 games, nine more points than Barcelona at second place, who were held to a 1-1 draw in Bilbao.
Star of the show in the Estadio Bernabeu was Real Madrid’s Robinho, in his best form since joining Real in 2005.
Robinho shot the hosts ahead after just eight minutes, on a perfect pass from veteran playmaker Guti. In the 15th minute, Guiseppe Rossi levelled for Villarreal with a clever, left-footed shot from just outside the penalty area. It was the first league goal that Real had conceded in 564 minutes.

Spanish La Liga champions Real Madrid were given an unlikedly 2-1. defeat by Real Mallorca during the first leg of the Spanish King’s Cup final round of 16. Real Madrid were visitors at the Ona Stadium to play the first leg against Real Mallorca and the home pitch must have favored Real Mallorca as they opened the scoring on the 24th minute with a goal by Real Mallorca player Oscar Trejo. A minute into the restart, Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain was able to draw the score level at 1-1.In the second half, Real Mallorca took the lead with a goal in the 54th minute from Real Mallorca midfielder Juan Arango to beat Real Madrid keeper Jerzy Dudek. Real Madird had several chances to grab a goal, but the efforts of Javier Saviola, Guti and Robinho were not able to get past Real Mallorca goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya.

Spanish La Liga champions Real Madrid have kept an undefeated streak at their home pitch at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, following a recent 2-0 victory against Real Zaragoza in their quest for a second consecutive Spanish La Liga title.
Real Madrid’s win also extends their lead in the Spanish Primera Division standings to seven points over current second-placers Barcelona. Real Madrid has a total of 44 points while Barcelona has 37 points in second place. Espanyol has 36 points while Atletico Madrid has 34 points in the La Liga standings.
The goals of Real Madrid came in the second half courtesy of soccer superstars Ruud van Nistelrooy and Robinho. Dutch international and Real Madrid’s main striker Ruud van Nistelrooy grabbed his 9th goal of the 2007-08 Spanish La Liga season with a spectacular 66th minute header coming from a wonderfully timed Robinho cross.

El Clasico kicks off on December 23 at Camp Nou in Barcelona featuring Spanish football’s biggest rivalries - Real Madrid vs. Barcelona. The two most successful teams of the Spanish La Liga will play in the El Clasico, which is probably the biggest football derby of in all of Europe.
FC Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard seemed a bit nervous about the El Clasico since his star strikers Thierry Henry and Lionel Messi were not going to play the El Clasico due to injuries. Well, a bit of good news goes to Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard as Thierry Henry has been given medical clearance to play at the El Clasico against Spanish La Liga Champions Real Madrid. Thierry Henry hasn’t played since November 25, and is not expected to be on the starting eleven, but he should be dressed up and ready to come off the bench should the need arise.

Spanish La Liga champions Real Madrid finally break through to the final round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League, following a 3-1 victory over Italian Serie A club Lazio at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid, Spain, on the final matchday of the group stage qualifiers. The two qualifying slots for Gorup C were still up for grabs, and the winners on Matchday 6 were assured a trip to the Final Round of 16.
Real Madird were very comfortable on the pitch, and it wasn’t long until the goals started pouring in. On the 13th minute, Real Madrid’s Julio Baptista opened up the scoring. 2 minutes after, Real Madrid captain Raul Gonzalez added another goal. And just half-time on the 36th minute, Real Madrid’s Robinho added a 3rd to give a 3-0 scoreline leading into the first half break.
